Vertically gates of Marc-0 type are designed to separate fire zones in accordance with binding fire regulations.

These doors are used mainly in public buildings, shopping centres and manufacturing plants. It is ideal solution for places where only available installation space is above door opening.

Principle of operation

The gate wing closes gravitationally under its own weight.  Closing speed is controlled by properly selected counterweight. The gate is kept in the open position by an electromagnetic door holder connected to the central fire protection unit. In case of fire risk, the fire-fighting central unit releases the electromagnetic door holder and the door closes the passage between the fire zones. The door is opened manually (as a standard) or automatically by an electric drive.

Construction

  • the shell of the gate is made of galvanized steel sheet [as a standard] with a thickness of 0.5-0.7 [mm] and coated in three basic RAL colours: 7035, 9002, 9010;
  • external elements of the gate are painted as a standard (excluding guide covers, which are galvanized - painting these elements is charged extra)
  • the door wings have a thickness of 60[mm] (EI60) and 100[mm] (EI120) and are made of vertical panels with a width of max. 1200[mm] and a height corresponding to the gate height;
  • each panel of the gate wing is made of modified fire resistant mineral wool of Class A1, classified according to PN-EN 13501-2+A1:2010, internally reinforced by steel bars with a diameter of 8 mm (the design protected by European patent No. W 02/079600A1);
  • the gate guide is made of galvanized steel sheet;
  • the gate has a counterweight built-in with a set of guides, covered with the same type of metal sheet as the door wing;
  • stable guiding of the counterweight guarantees smooth operation of the gate.
