Project characteristics:

This modern sports facility can accommodate nearly sixty thousand people, whose safe evacuation during prestigious mass events is a priority. One
of the elements that ensure safety in such a facility are fire safety passages. The stadium’s passive fire protection consists of, among others, gates with different fire resistance, which have to
stop the spreading of fire and the penetration of high temperature between the separated parts of the building.

System of Marc-Zs smoke-proof gates:

– a number of smoke-proof rolling gates was installed in the parking lots of the National Stadium and in the direct passages to the pitch; the gates not only constitute fire barriers, but also protect the passage from unauthorised opening. Marc-R double-wing sliding gates with emergency exit doors:
– the entrances to the hall are secured with large fire gates, where the doors are placed to facilitate evacuation.

System of movable Marc-Kda smoke curtains:

– in the main hall of the Stadium, a system of smoke curtains in the ceiling of each storey was installed to keep a clear lighting line

When designing passive fire protection, the following issues were taken into account:

– the nature of the Stadium
– the concept of the architect
– necessity of complete evacuation
– placing the driving elements, protected against unauthorised persons
– the necessity of combined operation of the products with each other and with the entire fire alarm system of the building

Characteristics:

The National Stadium is equipped with more than ten thousand elements of the fire alarm system. The system consists of, among others, fire sensors, which, upon detecting danger, send information to fire alarm panels, which are located in different areas of the building. They can also control the sound warning system, which immediately sounds the alarm about evacuation. Both safety systems in the facility form a unified, integrated system that is connected to all fire protection gates. During the construction of the building, the producer of the passive fire protection was faced with an enormous challenge to select appropriate barriers that would fulfil their role and would also match the nature of the surrounding architecture. Małkowski-Martech Company, which specialises in such solutions, undertook this task and placed a number of their products in the National Stadium to enable safe evacuation from such a specific structure. In cases where large-scale fire protection gates are used on the borders of fire zones, emergency exit doors without thresholds were installed in those gates to facilitate evacuation. In this way, fire protection and a fast escape route are provided at the same time.
